Sprouting Bear Labs
Mission-driven apps that earn well so others can exist at all. Revenue as fuel. Access as the point.
See what we're building →Revenue with a purpose
The apps we build that earn well fund the ones that never will. A portion of every dollar flows back to our mission-side projects, and to the organizations that need good software and can't afford what exists. LGBTQ+ advocacy groups. BIPOC-led nonprofits. Environmental justice organizations. Small museums. Independent educators. The ones doing the most important work on the least budget.
Stewardship, not extraction
We source data from trusted scientific and community institutions and handle it accordingly. We're not here to extract value from the ecosystems, datasets, or communities our software touches. We're stewards of them. That means the natural world, the data infrastructure that makes tools like ours possible, and the communities whose trust we rely on.
Part of something larger
Sprouting Bear Labs is the software branch of Sprouting Bear, an organization built around a simple belief: good ideas deserve a safe place to grow, even before they're profitable. Labs exists to make software that earns well enough to fuel everything else. The goal was never the software.
